Hello, Mai Is Me!
I've started up a Banana Fish Discord server, I adore the series!
I'm happy to be able to read up on it using this wiki. so I'd like the ask-
could the discord partner here? similar to how the Little Witch/My Hero Academia one has ^^
that would mean for it to show up on the front page.
it'd bring the community closer together, and gather fans of the show! a more interactive chat than the discussions tab. You and all the mods will of course get staff permissions in said server. and we could work the role system to fit in with wiki tasks, to make both more interactive! message me on discord if you'd like to discuss <3 ~kktwojinglebells#0614
Hey Mai is Me, I along with S3r0-Ph1i, am also an active contributor to the Banana Fish Wiki, May I ask if I can require admin rights to help improve the wiki and the following areas:
Welcoming New Users to the Banana Fish Wiki on their message walls
Helping to protect the site from hackers and violators who don't use the wiki to it's full potential
Improving and growing articles and adding certain pages to the navigation bar for users to find
Introducing the admins on the Wiki on the guidelines page if users have any concerns or questions for us
Being online if one of the active admins becomes offline and no one is attending to the wiki.
Thank you for your time on reading this.
Hey, me and S3r0-Ph1i were just chatting about becoming admins and nominating me to adopt for the Banana Fish wiki since you haven't really been active lately as being the founder of the wiki. Also S3r0-Ph1i makes a good point that theirs a new great template to use for the infoboxes and to use the css to refine our tables and all the other possibilities. We can also start community votes as well as keeping the wiki safe from hackers and violators who pose a threat for the wiki and welcoming new visitors to the wiki, the more admins the better. Please come in contact with me whenever you have the chance because this wiki may pose a threat for all of us if we don't have any admins taking care of the wiki.
Great to see you! Excellent edits to the manga pages, nicely done! As it happens there was some css developed to apply to the site, specifically curved border headings and infoboxes. Bananas are curved and all makes sense to have yellow curved info headings throughout. On design, might I also suggest an overhaul of the look of the site? The anime key images have a white and yellow themed backgrounds. For the main page, articles, indeed the entire wiki, if we have a white background (yellow is also a possibility, depends how it looks) with black text (black as the titular banana fish text) and then the signature yellow for headings and linked/highlighted text, this might look more in keeping with the colour scheme of Banana Fish. As admin you could also make requests on the communities board if someone can help make the word mark exactly like the title. The ‘Banana Fish ’ has some faded parts, and this art style with a small ‘wiki’ next to the Japanese text (just under the "H") with the banana fish yellow background would be a perfect word mark.
The main navigation template would be good for manga and anime pages but there should be different ones for each character, manga chapters and episode pages. To that end, the combined one developed for episode and episode image galleries should be reinstated as that was ideal for navigation between all of them.
Further progress would be great in the form of the mobile page being developed as only admins are able to alter that (again the community boards do have a section to help with this) and adding "Shorter Wong" and removing the Japanese text for the "Characters" headings. Adding links to the manga and anime main pages would also be helpful. It would be productive to add to the discussions, they're available, would be good to make use of them and of course everyone is welcome to join. Further polls being made and rotated might be handy. We had references that appear when hovered over since they’re excellent, this or this would be good default images rather than the current template (and the latter image is a good croppable image for a word mark, maybe with the brighter yellow suggested above and of course the current shaped "WIKI" underneath the "H"), whichever fits best really.
Hi! Thanks to the combined amazing edits, it appears that another lucky edit badge is coming up for a thousandth edit to the wiki. Can only encourage good edits to the articles so you could score this sweet prize! Good to share the luck around!
Hey Mai! As Bureaucrat only you can implement ReferencePopsups, which would allow people to hover over a reference to see it rather than scroll to the bottom. This would be a very good feature to add, don't you think?
For the main site headings, could the Manga page be added under “Banana Fish” above the music section? Similarly the Anime as well (the list of episodes next to it works great). For "Characters" could the bottom three be removed and Shorter Wong added? It would be great sticking with these five, every other character can be seen in the category page anyway.
I’ve found out and got the English names for the navigation template. It might be worth making additional templates for the Anime (image galleries could be included on the same template below the episodes), Manga chapters as well which would be very handy.
For the community message (seen when you’re looking at “Wiki activity” on the right, would the following be good to add?
“Welcome to the Banana Fish wiki! Our guidelines are a good point of call as well as the Manual of Style if you need help editing articles.
Right now, we’re expanding the manga chapters for Banana Fish and the on-going anime episodes. Whilst the anime is airing it would be a good idea to keep the status of characters undisclosed for major spoiler purposes.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask anyone, specifically me the admin! The discussions page is also useful for, well discussing anything!
To coincide with the anime, Viz Media is republishing the entire Banana Fish catalogue. The manga is able to be bought on the Banana Fish section, and the anime watched legally via Amazon Prime. Remember we’re the best fans who support this outstanding masterpiece that is Banana Fish!"
Hi there, there is a Spotlight feature that would be great for Banana Fish to have, this is it's great time to shine even brighter! It does suggest an admin facilitate it, but if you are busy I am up for arranging it for the site if that sounds good.
If you would like me to arrange for the spotlight and be on hand for the entire process, don't reply to this message!
Is everything alright? It's just that you don't seem to contribute to the site as much as you used to, and you had some real good stuff. And not sure if there's anything specific as to why you largely ignore messages from everyone. Is there anything I can do to help?
Hey hey! Going under "Explore" then "Wiki activity" is the best means of creating news pages. Elsewhere they like to take their sweet time loading! Whilst the going was good, there are now plenty of pages established for people to add to. Also made some practice blogs, turns out only admins can remove them. Would you mind removing all the test ones, except for my very first blog for the site; that one is to support the series in the best way!
I would reiterate my request to become an Admin to do this myself and save you the trouble. I would also like to gather affiliates for Banana Fish of which only Admins are authorised to do. You are the Bureaucrat Founder, so technically there isn't an Admin for the site. I only think it makes sense to have another Admin on hand to expand the site as I have, and as I say use the Admin perks for the benefit of the awesome Banana Fish site!
May I amend some of the guidelines? The rules can stay in place but perhaps better wording could be used for some areas. Also the “Guidelines” page at the bottom could be a distinct page from the “Manual of Style” to keep the work in progress policies neat and tidy?
